This is truly remarkable!

A picture executed in the popular water-dropped flower macro technique, which has almost turned into a cliché due to its overuse. Here, by using an orchid flower and an excellent, enticing positioning of the drop the artist has skillfully escaped that cliché. Tender and soft light hues dominate the picture in the colors of milk and honey, as sweet as the orchid beauty. There is almost no focus at all, but this works perfectly - the image is nearly abstract, and yet the flower is easily recognized. The cadre doesn't need so much empty space to the left, but this is the only compositional drawback I can see. The curves of the lower petals fill up the composition and don't let it fade monotonously.

To my observation orchids are unexpectedly difficult objects for photography, probably because of their beauty and peculiarity which are both difficult to handle with a camera. This is one of the best orchid photographs I've seen in a long time - tender, beautiful and unique as the orchid flower itself.
